High Tatras 3-day ski touring course

Are you a beginner skier and want to learn how to make safe ski turns? Have you done some ski touring a long time ago and you do not remember the technique anymore? Come to learn new concepts or improve the current ones, in this 3-day ski touring course in High Tatras.

This course is designed to teach all the secrets of ski mountaineering at a theoretical and practical level. I will show you all the necessary techniques to move safely across mountainous winter terrains, like the ones we have here in Slovakia.

As for the itinerary, we will meet on Friday afternoon to have a brief introductory talk and check both the ski and avalanche equipment. On day 2, we will make a first skiing outing to recognize the terrain and have a basic orientation of the field, snow conditions, etc. By the afternoon we will work on the use of the avalanche equipment and we will do some snow stability tests. At night we will plan our next day, during which we will learn much more about ski touring and avalanche safety.

On Sunday we will put into practice everything learned in the best cross-country slopes of the High Tatras. The idea is to give you personalized attention so that you can leave this course with the best tools according to your physical and technical level.
