Description

Join one of our local certified guides for a day hike and discover the great natural diversity and landscapes of the Zwin Nature Park in Knokke-Heist, in the province of Flanders. This protected nature reserve is located on the North Sea coast, on the border between Belgium and the Netherlands.

A day hike in the Zwin Nature Park -also called Zwin Plain- is a wonderful way to explore the reserve’s fascinating world of birds and plants. The reserve has a total of 158 hectares: about three quarters (125 hectares) of the total area are on Belgian territory, and 33 hectares are situated on Dutch territory.

Starting from Knokke-Heist, one of Belgium’s best known and most popular seaside resorts, we will wander through polders and dunes, enjoying the unique scenery of this area and we will be rewarded with a magnificent view over the Zwin plain. Along the way, we will also explore the Hazegras polder.

The Zwin Nature Park is very popular among bird watchers and it is known for its wide variety of salt-resistant flora, such as marsh samphire and sea lavender. It is also one of the few places in the country with a population of white storks. We will tell you all the secrets about the uniqu flora of the area.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
