Upper Svaneti is a beautiful medieval-type region in the Caucasus Mountains that preserves its mountain scenery. This trip is an exceptional opportunity to visit an iconic place in Georgia with outstanding universal value.

During this private hiking trip, you will get to know the small villages situated on the mountain slopes. You will also see the towers that add a medieval tone to the architecture style in the region, and try the Georgian traditional cuisine.

What happens if I need to cancel the trip?
If you decide to cancel, you’ll get a 100% refund (minus fees) if the cancellation is notified up to 60 days before the start of the tour, a 75% refund (minus fees) if you cancel between 59 and 30 days before the start of the tour, and a 50% refund if you cancel between 29 and 21 days before the start of the tour. If you cancel less than 21 days before the first day of the tour, you won’t receive a refund. Take into account, however, that if accommodation, flights or transfers were included in the trip you booked, then a different policy may apply as the guide will be bound by the provider’s cancellation policy.

What happens if the guide cancels the trip because of bad weather/unsuitable conditions?
If bad weather or unsuitable conditions force the guide to cancel the trip, he or she will: a) propose a similar activity at a different place where conditions are better, or b) propose to postpone the activity until a later date, or c) cancel. If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).

What happens if the guide doesn’t show up or cancels for personal reasons?
If the guide cancels for reason of injury or other, you will get a 100% refund on your trip.



  • Day 1: Tbilisi

    Arrival to Tbilisi and transfer from the airport. Cultural tour in Tbilisi. Overnight in a hotel.

  • Day 2: Upper Svaneti

    On this day we will be picked up and transferred to upper Svaneti. We will overnight in the village Mazeri.

  • Day 3: Hiking tour starts

    After breakfast, we will start hiking and will see marvelous views of Ushba peak and Shdugra waterfall. In the evening we will get back to the village Mazeri, where we will be able to relax and taste delicious Georgian dishes. We will overnight in the village Mazeri.

    Trekking – 12 km (3-4 hour)
    Altitude difference – 1600 m-2000 m-1600 m
    Overnight – guesthouse

  • Day 4: Guli Pass

    After  breakfast we will go to Guli Pass, which is 2950 m above sea level. We can see breathtaking views of Ushba Peak (4700 m), Svaneti ridge and Tetnuldi Peak (4852 m) from this place. Return to village Mazeri.

    Trekking – 14 km (7-8 hour)
    Altitude difference – 1600 m – 2950 m – 1600 m
    Overnight – guesthouse

  • Day 5: Mestia

    After breakfast,we will travel to Mestia. We will visit Mestia museum and Chalaadi glacier. In the evening, we will have dinner with traditional Svanetian dishes. Overnight in guesthouse in Mestia.

    Tour details:
    By minivan – 40 km (1 hour)
    Trekking – 7 km (2-3 hours)
    Altitude difference – 1500 m-2020 m-1500m
    Overnight – guesthouse

  • Day 6: Zuruldi Mountain

    On this day we will see wonderful Koruldi lakes and picturesque Zuruldi Mountain. We will get to the mountain by ropeway, from where we will have an astonishing panoramic view of Svanetian Caucasus. We will dine and relax in the evening. Overnight in Mestia.

    Trekking – 13 km (5-6 hours)
    By minivan – 25 km (1-1.30 hour)
    Altitude difference – 2100 m-2745 m
    Overnight – guesthouse

  • Day 7: Mulakhi community

    After breakfast, we will begin the path from the town of Mestia towards Mulakhi community and visit its beautiful villages. In the evening we will dine and relax. We will overnight in the village of Zhabeshi.

    Tour details:
    Trekking – 14 km (6-7 hours)
    Altitude difference – 1700 m-2050 m-1600 m
    Overnight – guesthouse

  • Day 8: Ughviri pass

    After breakfast we will drive by minivan to Ughviri pass from where spectacular panoramic views are displayed. Later we will descend via foot-path to the village Adishi, where we will have dinner and rest. We will overnight in Adishi.
    Tour details:
    By minivan – 10 km (30 minutes)
    Trekking – 7 km (3-4 hours)
    Altitude difference – 2480 m-2030 m
    Overnight – guesthouse

  • Day 9: Village Iprali

    After breakfast we will go along the path towards village Iprali. We have to cross the river and use horses for that. On the way, we will see and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of Adishi glacier and surroundings. We will meet a minivan in the village Iprali, which will transfer us to the Ushguli community. We will dine; rest and overnight in Ushguli.

    Tour details:
    Trekking – 16 km (7-8 hours)
    By minivan – 10 km (30 minutes)
    Altitude difference – 2030 m-2722 m-1800 m
    Overnight – guesthouse

  • Day 10: Kutaisi

    After Ushguli we will return to Kutaisi, have dinner and rest. Overnight in Kutaisi.

    By minivan – 300 km (5-6 hours)
    Overnight – guesthouse

  • Day 11: Tbilisi

    We will return in Tbilisi, will have a cultural tour, after tour free time and transfer to the airport.
