Description
We invite you to join us for a hiking day in the Apuan Alps and discover the Vie di Lizza. These were the paths through which huge marble blocks were moved downhill in ancient times.
Although they were no longer used for more tan 50 years, today they are fantastic hiking routes, in a unique environment. Besides, they are a monument to the fatigue and sweat of men, as well as the origin of bold masterpieces.
The Apuan Alps lie in northern Tuscany, in Italy. They offer an incredible alpine environment and breathtaking views from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west.
Some of the world's highest quality marble is found in the area. To the north of the range, we find the famous marble querries of Carrara and Massa. Marble and Carrara have become synonyms all over the world.
We will spend an amazing day hiking on a beautiful environment full of history! Also, please note you need good aerobic training to join this hike. The level ranges from medium to difficult, depending on the path.

This place blew my mind, it's a true Natural Waterpark and I recommend it 100%! It’s not well-known, but from now on it should be be a must when you visit Tuscany. It's located 1:30 hs from Firenze, making the Apuan Alps an amazing option for a day trip. I went up by train and Carlo, the guide, was waiting for me in the train station. I've never done a canyoning adventure before and it turned out to be the most fun I had this summer. This adventure is for all levels, if I did it anyone can! But you must not have a fear of heights and have a notion about rock climbing or rappelling. The jumps at first are a little bit scary, but there is nothing better than overcoming fears and doing it anyway! The experience ends up under a Roman bridge, and it makes everything so special.
