Description

Chamonix has a great number of stunning ice routes. On this trip we will climb the Goulotte Chere, a classic ice couloir in Triangle du Tacul, in the Mont Blanc massif. Join me!

Due to its easy access, Mont Blanc du Tacul is one of the most popular high mountain venues near Chamonix. Its north side, known as Triangle du Tacul, offers some gorgeous ice climbing spots such as the fabulous Goulotte Chéré.

On this day trip you will climb this classical ice route under expert guidance. Goulotte Chéré is an ice gully for beginners, with numerous escape routes. However, there is some danger of falling ice and you should be able to handle crampons and ice axes.

We will catch the Aiguille du Midi cable car, and after a half-hour hike we will reach the base of the ice waterfall. From there, we will head up a 3 or 4 hour ice climbing adventure.

Readily visible from Aiguille du Midi, the Chere Couloir offers some breathtaking views of the famous Vallée Blanche. You will enjoy a real sensation of alpine wilderness!

So, if you are up for this ice climbing trip in the Goulotte Chere, please contact us. I’ll be glad to guide you in the classic ice gully of  Mont Blanc du Tacul!

And if you are looking for multi-day mountaineering adventures in this region, I recommend my 6-day Mont Blanc expedition.

Unfortunately our trip did not go as planned due to weather and conditions in the mountains, so we had to change our second objective. Our guides handled that with professionalism and determination, which resulted in a successful summit. We summitted the first mountain as well. Overall it was a successful trip and we are grateful for the opportunity to have experienced the country of Chile the way it happened.

Great experience from start to finish. Lupe found my group a great trip on very short notice and our Guides Carlos and Edu were great. Nice long backcountry tours that led to gnarly terrain in the Maipo Valley. Fantastic experience, highly recommend!

Carlos was guiding us very well in the mountains and he knew perfectly, what he was doing on rock or on ice. However, the communication was not the easiest and we also did not learn as much as we wanted on our two "training days" - it was mostly teaching through doing rather than showing us new techniques.

Had a Wonderful Time in the french alps. However, the down side of it, is that I did not make it to the summit because of the weather, and had to make a U-turn from 4,400m altitude, just 1-2h away from the summit. Now after the first try, I think this can be organised differently so the chance for the summit is twofold or even three fold. How can it be done differently? Acclimatisation can start at Tete Rouse refuge with overnight stay plus two nights at Goutter refuge. If done this way the chance of making it to the Mont Blanc summit increases. You have a bad weather one morning, but you try it from 12noon & have plenty of time as you'll slip at Goutter. If all day has bad weather you try again next morning...

Carlos is a very accomplished rock climber, speaks great English, and is fun to be around. We felt very safe while climbing with him on the Sharks Fin, and learned a lot too.

The whole trip was excellent. Explore share did a great job coordinating. Carlos is an experienced guide and effective teacher. I felt safe with him the whole time we were on the mountain. The weather was terrific and we summited just as expected. I highly recommend Carlos Vasquez for Mont Blanc.

Carlos was a professional and committed guide! We had three great days. He was friendly and guided us savely up to mt blanc. i dont understand the one bad rating carlos got. In my opinion it think it was an bloody amateur which shouldnt have been on mt blanc in the first place. Let me say one thing. If you have no experience on higher mountains and in climbing in general, there is no place for you on mt blanc. train hard, prepare and come with the right expectation!
