Description

The Tre Cime di Lavaredo are one of the most popular mountain groups in the Alps. With its historic rock climbing routes, this destination attracts climbers from all over the world. Do you want to head up the famous Spigolo Giallo (Gelbe Kante) Route? Then come join me!

Part of the Sexten Dolomites, the Three Peaks of Lavaredo are: Cima Piccola (“little peak”, 2,857m) Cima Grande (“big peak”, 2,999m) and Cima Ovest (“western peak”, 2,973m). These mountains were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918. Since then, they divide the Italian provinces of Belluno and of Bolzano, in northeastern Italy.

On this 1-day outing we will head up one of the most famous routes in the area: the Spigolo Giallo (or Gelbe Kante). It was opened in 1933 by Emilio Comici, on the south face of Cima Piccola. This 350m route follows an overhanging edge and has a V/VI difficulty level. Reaching the top of the tower will takes us between 4 to 6 hours.
