Description

Full of natural wonder, Madeira is a paradise for people who enjoy spending time on a lush, beautiful island. And despite its small size, there is nonetheless an array of amazing places to explore, routes to hike, and viewpoints to enjoy.

For the purpose of this trip, one of our experienced guides would like to take you on a wonderful Levada walk. During this trek, you will venture to the highest points of Santana. Thus giving you a great opportunity to gaze as far as the eye can see. Beginning in the Queimadas rain forest, which you will get plenty of time to explore and enjoy, we will make our way to the Caldeirao Verde. Translated as the Green Cauldron, this area is breathtaking. It also highlighted by an amazing waterfall, which you will get to admire for as long as you wish.

The trek will last approximately 5 hours, and will cover approximately 13 kilometers. However, we will be hiking at a comfortable pace. Hence giving you lots of opportunities to rest when you need. You will also get to stop and take that perfect picture if the chance arises.

Due to the length of the hike, and because we will be trekking through some tunnels and venturing to some of the highest points of Madeira, you should be in good physical condition. Also, any prior hiking experience will definitely be helpful, but is not an absolute requirement.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
