Are you looking for a hiking trip in the scenic archipelago of Madeira? Then join me and discover the amazing Caminho Real da Encumeada!

Madeira is an autonomous region of Portugal encompassing four islands about 950 kms southwest of Lisbon. Known for its warm climate and its rugged volcanic terrain, this archipelago is an attractive destination for trekking adventures.

My hiking outing starts at Miradouro Boca da Corrida with fantastic views of the central mountains of Madeira. The Caminho Real da Encumeada is a paved road, formerly used by the landed nobility, that connects the base of some of the highest peaks of the area. In addition to learning about the past, we will explore a unique natural area with a rich flora and fauna!

Please note that you don’t need previous hiking experience. However, we will hike a total distance of almost 12km, so I recommend this outing for people with a good fitness level.

So, if you want to explore the archipelago of Madeira under expert guidance, please contact me. Let’s hike the Caminho Real da Encumeada and enjoy an unforgettable adventure!

I can also take you to the top of Pico Ruivo, the highest peak of the archipelago. Check it out here.
