Are you looking for a program to relax in the middle of nature? Then follow me on this 1-day hike in Madeira, the Portuguese archipelago in front of the northeast coast of Africa, and discover stunning natural spots with waterfalls and lakes. We’ll cross a lush forest and follow the Levada do Alecrim.

Our hike will begin at an altitude of 1,200 meters in a refuge in the Laurissilva Forest. By taking the trail along the Levada do Alecrim, we’ll discover plenty of gorgeous waterfalls and crystalline lagoons on the way. Among them is the Lagoa da Dona Beja waterfall, with an altitude of 80 meters, and the Lagoa do Vento lagoon. Then, we’ll continue walking among beautiful trees until we reach the shelter house in Rabaçal.

As for the requirements, keep in mind that we’ll hike for 4 hours and may face difficult sections on the way. That’s why is important to have a very good level of fitness for this program.

So, are you ready for an exciting adventure in Portugal? Then send the request to book your place and spend the day exploring the gorgeous lakes and waterfalls of Madeira.

I also lead other hiking experiences on the island, such as this trip from Machico to Porto da Cruz!
