Description

Embark with us on an unforgettable journey with us as we trek around the "Mountain of the Soul," known as Manaslu in Sanskrit, standing proudly at 8163m as the eighth highest peak in the world. Our expedition takes us through Nepal's lesser-explored paths, from the subtropical lowlands to the majestic heights of the world's highest mountains, offering a blend of natural wonders, cultural immersion, and authentic encounters with local communities.

Beginning our adventure in the Kathmandu Valley, we explore some of Nepal's most exquisite sanctuaries, many of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our overland journey leads us to Soti Khola, where our trek starts. Trekking through a tapestry of landscapes, we transition from warm, lush environments and quaint villages to verdant forests, cascading rice terraces, and eventually to the rugged, barren terrains of higher altitudes. Along the way, we witness a gradual shift in the local religious practices, transitioning from Hinduism to Tibetan Buddhism.

As we ascend, the awe-inspiring vistas of Manaslu, panoramic valleys, snow-capped peaks, and sprawling glaciers unfold before us. Traversing close to the Tibetan border, our journey reaches its pinnacle as we conquer the Larkya La pass at 5106m, navigating through glaciers and moraines before descending into the lower climatic zones.

Renowned as one of Nepal's most picturesque treks, the "Manaslu Circuit Trekking" offers a tranquil alternative to the bustling trails of Everest and Annapurna. Throughout our expedition, we traverse the Manaslu Conservation Area, requiring appropriate permits and the guidance of approved experts to ensure a responsible and rewarding experience.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested in joining this unique Manaslu trek in the Himalayas!

Which extra expensas do I need to consider? How much money should I bring with me on the trek?

Difficult to answer. Do you treat yourself to a few beers every evening? Would you like a Snickers, a soft drink and a piece of cake in between? Do you buy souvenirs?

Rough guide: with CHF 20 per trekking day you are very well off.

Who will be the guide on the trekking?

The lead guide is Reini, Swiss tour guide (hiking guide with federal certificate), and he is accompanied by a local, officially approved guide (requirement for permits).

Which are the physical requirements to join this trip?

This is a demanding trekking, good fitness and physical/mental condition are required, as well as sure-footedness: safe and independent hiking in rough terrain. Consider also a head for heights: for crossing sometimes long and high, but safe (!) suspension bridges or sloping, narrow paths.

You must be fit enough for daily hiking stages of 5 hours, and be able to carry the daypack yourself. The main luggage will be carried by the accompanying team.

Experience has shown that you become physically stronger during trekking. So if you are experienced at hiking but have never been on the road for 10 hours, you can still take part.

How much weight will I have to carry on my backpack?

You'll only have to carry the daypack yourself, with clothes adapted to the weather/conditions, snacks and drinks, first aid kit, telescopic poles, rain gear, sunglasses & sun protection.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
