Description

Join me on this great Mare a Mare Sud 6-day hiking traverse in Corsica and discover one of the most beautiful trails in the south of the island. The hike will take us through the Alta Rocca region, from Burgo to Porto-Vecchio, from the southwest to the southeast coast.

The island of Corsica is one of the 18 regions of France. It is located in the Mediterranean Sea, south east of the French mainland.

This hiking traverse starts in Burgo, from the Gulf of Valincu and takes us to climb up the Alta Rocca, at the gates of the Cuscionu plateau, above the Ospedale Lake, finishing at the beautiful town of Porto Vecchio. From end of April until November I can take you on this great trip!

During these days, you will have the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the small mountainous villages of the Alta Rocca, discovering beautiful trails, with ancient forests and unique landscapes.

This trip offers many highlights, like the views of the Gulf of Valincu and Porto Vecchio, over the Bavella needles and Alcudina; the scent of the maquis shrubs; the typical villages of the Alta Rocca area; the views of the Cuscionu plateau; the ascent of the Cuciurpula and the Punta di A Vacca Morta and the visit to the archaeological site of Cuccuruzzu and the mill of Serra di Scopamène.

Every morning, we’ll set out and follow a different hiking trail, spending every night in a different cottage along the way. Bear in mind that every day we’ll walk between 5 to 6 hours, so you  need to have a good fitness level to join this trip. We will be walking on fairly rolling terrain, often rocky, with 1000 to 1800m of daily average altitude difference.

This 6-day village to village hiking tour is a great opportunity to discover the wonders of southern Corsica. So, if you are interested**, just send me a request and get ready to enjoy a unique hiking traverse.** You can  check the date below and join a group, or you can choose private guiding as well.
