Rising dramatically from the plains of central Greece, Meteora is one of Europe’s most distinctive climbing destinations. As described by geographer A. Philippson, it remains “one of the strangest landscapes of Europe,” with towering conglomerate pillars, deep gorges, and historic monasteries perched high above the valley floor.
This 3-day custom trip, led by certified guide Dimitris, offers a flexible combination of rock climbing, via ferrata, and hiking through this unique geological wonder. Whether you are looking to experience your first climbs on Meteora’s famous conglomerate rock or explore its exposed routes via ferrata, the program adapts to your level and preferences.
Over three days, you will move between climbing sectors, scenic trails, and vertical adventures, all within a landscape rich in both natural beauty and cultural heritage. The presence of centuries-old monasteries and hermit caves adds a rare dimension to the experience, blending outdoor activity with history.
This is a fully customizable trip, allowing you to focus more on climbing, hiking, or via ferrata depending on your goals.

Dimitris was well known around the crag and was a very helpful guide, even advising other climbers nearby. Great day climbing!

I had 2 really great days of climbing with Dimitris. He chose beautiful routes that were appropriate for me and he impressed me with his professionalism, expertise, and safety. Add his climbing stories & interest in listening to mine and they were truly memorable days.

I can't imagine a better guide than Dimitris. He has been mountaineering and climbing for close to 50 years (he started very young!) and is a wealth of information. I am an intermediate climber and my husband is a beginner. Dimitris picked a crag that catered to both of us - both fun and challenging. I felt very safe with Dimitris, and I felt that my husband was in good hands. On our short hike to the crag, he pointed out different wildflowers and plants, and which were edible or medicinal. Once there, Dimitris asked if he could watch us climb and give beta and tips. We were happy for him to share his knowledge with us. On top of all of this, he is a lovely, kind person. It was a joy to spend time with Dimitris. I hope we can return to Greece and climb with him again.
