Description

This 8 days program in Ansilta Range, in the Central Andes Mountains in San Juan province, will take us to some of the 5000 m peaks in the region.

Ansilta region is one of the most beautiful and unexplored places in the Central Andes, where there are 7 main peaks over 5000 m. The range is oriented North-South, and the peaks are numbered from Peak 1 in the North to Peak 7 in the South.

There is a lot of wild fauna to see in the area and archeology sites during the approaching to Base Camps Valleys. From the Base Camp, where we get after two days, you can access to the main summits in this range.

We could climb up the mountains from easy routes to hard ice climbing routes… We can adapt the journey, and decide which one to aim at according to your preferences, fitness level, and weather conditions.

The main season for this program is from October to April, but from June to September you can also do the winter ascents to get the “Wildest Andes Winter Challenge”.

Please get in touch if you are interested in this great program, both in summer and in winter, in Ansilta range in San Juan!

Mountain Guide

I am an EPGAMT guide from San Juan, Argentina.

I am a fanatic of high mountains ice climbing and trad and sport rock climbing, and I know the Argentinean Andes because I've been climbing and guiding since 2001.

I worked mostly in the Central Andes (Aconcagua, Mercedario, all the summits in Ramada Range and Ansilta Range, Vallecitos Range), but also know and work in the Argentinean North West Atacama Region (Pissis, Bonete Chico, Llullaillaco, Antofalla, Nevado de Cachi etc), and in Patagonia, where I climbed the main needles and mountains, such as Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy Massif (including some new routes also in the main summits in the area).

I am a lover of technical ascent, rocky or icy, with a lot of experience guiding and climbing, so you can decide whatever mountain and route you would like to climb, from easy walking treks, rapps, and rockclimbing tours around San Juan City (where I live), to Ice climbing and rock climbing routes in all the Argentinean Andean including winter ascent to the highest Argentinean Mountains!!!

I have also climbed around Spain, Marruecos, Peru, Bolivia, Brasil and Chile.
