Milford Sound is located in the Southwest of the South Island of New Zealand, 290km from Queenstown, and is one of the most famous and popular tourist destinations in the country. The Darran Mountains loom above the Sound, and they are regarded as a classic and traditional New Zealand rock climbing locale.

We meet in the morning of the first day in the town of Wanaka, and from there we then drive to the starting point of the trip, which will also serve as the base for the subsequent 4 days.

Each day we will head to one of the numerous and fantastic rock climbing spots, with particular highlights including “Labyrinth”, “Lucky Strike”, “Bowen Allen Corner” and “Babylon”.

Each of these locations have their own distinct and unique characteristics, ranging from wild and steep red stone, to epic and awesome views back out over the land, to excellent limestone rock and fun routes.

There are different rock climb available for people of all abilities and levels, and there will be ample time to admire and bask in the lovely and brilliant landscape, scenery and terrain that New Zealand is so famous for. You will want to bring your camera!
