I invite you to join me on this 4-day expedition of enjoyable, challenging and delightful off-piste skiing, as we traipse through the absolutely stunning and gorgeous Carnic and Julian Alps, which takes us across the borders of three fascinating countries, Slovenia, Italy and Austria.

The Julian Alps, stretching over both Slovenia and Italy are internationally known and famous for being home to some of the most idyllic and picture-perfect landscapes and sceneries in Europe, and nestled within is the highest peak in Slovenia, Mt Triglav.

The Carnic Alps, whilst not as well-known as their illustrious neighbor, are equally as spectacular, and also crosses borders from Italy in to Austria.

We meet on the first day at our hotel, and from here we drive to the Monte Lussari ski are in Italy, where we begin to ski in earnest, tackling some of the off-piste and untracked powder nearby.

The following three days will be action-packed full of skiing, as we head to some of the most alluring spots in the Alps, including Vogel, Nassfeld and Sella Nevea, crisscrossing between Austria, Slovenia and Italy at will.

The wide array of scenery we will encounter is truly awe-inspiring, as lush alpine forests lead down to tranquil and pristine lakes, vast and open valleys and sweeping panoramic views. The clean and crisp Winter air is also a sensory delight.

On the final day we ski in the morning, before heading to Kranjska Gora and saying our goodbyes to each other, having made a lifetime of memories in just 4 days!

About the Guide

IFMGA Mountain Guide
I was born in Jesenice on 25.03.1967. I’m based in Gozd Martuljek in the Julian Alps, Slovenia. I qualified as an IFMGA Mountain Guide in 2003 and I was President of the Slovenian Mountain Guide Association from 2009-2013. I’ve loved the mountains for as long as I can remember. It started in primary school when I was in the local mountaineering club. In high school I started climbing. Later I joined the mountain rescue team in Kranjska Gora and I have been a member of the rescue team since 1994. I’ve been guiding for the past 11 years in the Alps and all around the world. Each year I usually guide for about 150 days.
Alongside my work, my family (wife, 2 children), travel and mountain photography are my passions.
- Guiding skills: rock climbing, climbing routes, touring ski, ice climbing, winter climbing.
Since 2005 I’m sponsored by Montura and last 6 years I’m skiing on Elan skies.
