Rock climb to the top of Piccola di Lavaredo via Spigolo Giallo, from Rifugio Auronzo

Located in the Sexten Dolomites, in northeastern Italy, the Tre Cime di Lavaredo are a group of three stunning peaks: Cima Piccola, Cima Grande and Cime Ovest. On this adventure, I invite you to reach the top of Piccola di Lavaredo (2,857 meters) through the Spigolo Giallo classical climbing route.

The day before the trip, we’ll spend the night in the Rifugio Auronzo. On the following day, we’ll get up at 6 in the morning and hike for 40 minutes. Then, we’ll start a 5-hour climb to the top of Piccola di Lavaredo and return on a 3-hour descent. The route is demanding and includes some difficult sections and lots of vertical terrains.

Please, consider that the sport climbing level of this program is 6a. Therefore, it’s mandatory to have an excellent level of fitness and resistance. Also, it’s very important to have prior rock climbing knowledge and experience.
