Description

Have you ever visited a place so magnificent that inspired poems? Join me on this 1 day rock climbing trip and discover Camden Hills State Park.

This place is so spectacular that it was immortalized in Edna St. Vincent Millay’s poem Renascence. Along with its beauty, one of the characteristics of Camden Hills is that it offers a unique type of rocks, perfect for rock climbing. Also, the spots where you can climb are not just superb but also highly varied.

Barrett’s Cove

It’s suitable for beginners, with routes ranging  from one to three pitches, and an incomparable view of Lake Megunticook.  Experienced climbers can try Charlotte’s Crack, a challenging but fun 5.7 and 3 pitch ascent, with crack and face climbing, amongst other thrilling options.

My recommendations for beginners are:
  •  The Ramp-5.3

  • Clamdigger Crack-5.5

  • Equinox-5.5

  • Champagne-5.6

  • Charlotte’s Crack-5.6

  • Young Stud-5.6

And for Intermediate or advanced climbers I recommend:
  • Charlotte’s Crack-5.7

  • Harmonic Convergence-5.7

  • Templeton’s Crack-5.8

  • Queen Charlotte-5.8

The verticals

This is a great spot if you want to work on your technique and test your abilities. It is very close to Barrett’s Cove, where you can start warming up, so you can tackle this fantastic ascent.

Here, I recommend:
  • 5.8- 500 Pound Flakeout

  • 5.9- Bolt Ladder

  • 5.10-Brown Eye

Also, other spots that are definitely worth exploring are:
  • The ramparts: this spot is more secluded. Thus, it is perfect if you want a quiet ascent. You’ll find a mixture of routes  with sport ascents, and those where you’ll require moderate gear.

  • Guide’s Wall: a great range of routes for beginners, intermediate and advanced climbers alike. You’ll find crack, corners and face, so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.

So don’t miss out on this exceptional opportunity! Send me a request and explore this wonderful place.

We also offer this trip in the South Bubble in the Accadia Park

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!

Nate was very knowledgeable and got me to the top of mountain. He’s not as engaging as most of the guides I’ve had over the years. I’ve learned a lot about most of my climbs as guides talk about the mountain and the area maybe even plant and animals and I enjoy getting to know them better. We did talk a bit more on the way out of the trailhead. All in all a good experience. But not sure your company told him I had a knee replacement and would be slow.
