The San José is a 5821-meter-high volcano lying just in the Chilean-Argentinean border. It is a millenarian volcano which currently contains superposed craters and volcanic lava flows. Despite of that, this volcano only erupted in the 19th and 20th centuries. That makes it a really enjoyable ascent.
The reasons why I’d like to guide you there are the following ones:
You will be part of a real challenge in the heart of the Central Andes;
We’ll walk across a stunning Andean landscape;
There will be the best panoramic views of all the surrounding peaks over 6000 meters of height.
I recommend to do this climbing trip from November to March. The spring and summer times are the most suitable for a nice experience in the Central Andes.
I can take with me a group of 6 to 12 guests. I have some open groups for next departures that you can join if you are alone. All participants must have an excellent fitness level. Keep in mind that the high altitude and its temperatures can turn this trip into a demanding one.
So, if you want to join me for a unique climbing expedition to this rarely visited area of the Central Andes, please contact me! Fill out the form and I will answer you as soon as possible.
