Description

Gorra Blanca is a mountain located within the Patagonian Ice Cap just on the border between Chile and Argentina. Its name is given by the formation of snow and ice on its summit, resembling a white cap.  I would like to take you there for 5 amazing days of ski touring.

As for the itinerary, our starting point will be El Chaltén, on the Argentinian side. After 2 days of walking and skinning on the Continental ice field, we will reach the summit of Gorra Blanca. Then it will be time to enjoy amazing ski descents back to the base of the mountain.

I always suggest to add an extra day in case of bad weather. On day 5 we will be back in El Chaltén.

Find a detailed itinerary at the bottom of this page. Off course it can be adapted according to your wishes, technical skills and available time.

So please contact me if you find this ski tour in Gorra Blanca interesting. Let’s discover an unexplored area of Patagonia, with great snow conditions and secret spots!

I also lead many other winter adventures in the area. You can check out this 10-day ski tour in the best mountains and valleys accessible from El Chaltén.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
