This program is ideal for those who already know the basics of rock climbing and want to tackle challenging multi-pitch routes. According to your wishes we may leave for 1 to 3 days.
During this trad climbing course in Pucón, we will focus on trad climbing techniques, as well as on how to use the equipment properly to climb multi-pitch routes.
These are some of the main points we’ll cover :
- Different types of rock and how to adapt the technique according to them.
- Rock climbing equipment.
- Fall factor.
- Learn how to place protection properly.
- Techniques for crack climbing (Dulfer and jamming).
- Double rope climbing.
- Progression in multi-pitch climbing routes.
- Rappel. Use of safety back-up systems.
- Communication: climbing calls.
- Techniques for climbing chimneys.
- Topos: how to read, understand and make them.
Keep in mind that all participants must be able to climb a 5.9 route top rope and have a great physical condition. This program is only suitable for those who have completed a first level rock climbing course or are able to prove their knowledge up or beyond that level.
