Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

At the crack of dawn, we'll ride on a local bus from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, a scenic drive spanning approximately 6-7 hours.

On the way there, we'll be treated with views of the rural hamlets lining the Trishuli River, meandering through dhunche, and tracing the course of the Langtang River.

As the journey continues, the majestic Himalayan peaks gradually come into view, signaling your approach to Syabrubesi. This charming village serves as the launchpad for the Langtang Valley trek.

Upon reaching Syabrubesi, settle into your teahouse lodgings and relish a moment to explore the picturesque village nestled at the confluence of the Bhotekoshi River. This serene evening allows you to catch glimpses of the Himalayan expanse that awaits you.

Your overnight stay takes place in a cozy teahouse in Syabrubesi.

Day 2: Trek to Lama Hotel

Our day starts with an early breakfast. Then, our knowledgeable guide will offer a detailed overview of the day's itinerary and the path ahead.

The trail from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel unfolds as a captivating and moderately challenging journey. We'll then descend toward the Bhote Koshi River, crossing it via a suspension bridge.

Once across, the trail gradually ascends amid thick rhododendron and bamboo forests. Following the Langtang River for a significant stretch, you'll be treated to tranquil riverside vistas. Upon reaching the Langtang Khola, the journey continues upstream. Transitioning through the villages of Pairo and Bamboo, the riverside ambiance accompanies your way.

A bridge crossing and a passage through Rimche will then lead us to a forested ascent toward the village of Lama Hotel. Approximately 5–6 hours of trekking culminate in our arrival at Lama Hotel.

Once here, we'll take the time to unwind, bask in the serene ambiance, and rejuvenate. As night falls, you'll find accommodation and warmth in a cozy tea house at Lama Hotel.

Day 3: Hike to Kyanjin Gompa

On our 3rd trekking day from Lama Hotel to Kyanjin Gompa will be full of captivating panoramas of the surrounding mountains.

The initial phase of the journey will involve an ascent through forests adorned with rhododendron blooms and towering pine trees. The path occasionally reveals glimpses of the majestic Langtang Lirung (7,227 meters) and neighboring peaks. Exiting the forest, the route closely follows the Langtang Khola river.

As we traverse onward, we'll encounter the village of GhodaTabela, a perfect spot to take a brief respite. The terrain transitions to vast yak pastures and expansive meadows. We'll pass through the village of Thangshyap before ultimately arriving at Kyanjin Gompa.

After about 3-4 hours of trekking, we'll reach Kyanjin Gompa, a serene village adorned with a renowned monastery, fluttering prayer flags, and a notable cheese factory.

Day 4: Kyanjin Ri Expedition

Our ascent to Kyanjin Ri usually kicks off in the early hours of the morning, typically between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM, in order to capture the sunrise.

During our ascent, we'll catch glimpses of Langtang Lirung, Langshisa Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and other snow-crowned peaks.

Upon returning, we'll enjoy breakfast at the tea house. After, we'll set out on the trail back to Langtang Village. Following the same path we ascended to Kyanjin Gompa, the trail will guide us downward. After an approximate total of 7-8 hours of trekking, including the Kyanjin Ri hike, we'll be back in Langtang Village.

Day 5: Descent to Syabrubesi

Today's trek will leads us through a descent along Langtang Valley. This path crosses through lush forests and suspension bridges that span the Langtang Khola.

A well-deserved lunch break will await us at a designated teahouse along the route.

In the evening, we'll commemorate the triumphant completion of the trek with a celebratory dinner at the teahouse in Syabrubesi.
