Description

Situated in remote north-central Nepal, the Mustang District boasts unique scenery, a fascinating culture and plenty to see and do! Heading out on the Upper Mustang trek is the best way to experience this stunning part of Nepal.

Over the course of 18-day, we will take you from the capital of Kathmandu on to Lo Mangthang, in the heart of the Mustang District, and back.

En route, we will visit the stunning city of Pokhara,  hike through scenic villages, see ancient and culturally significant monuments and, of course, enjoy the region's unparalleled natural beauty.

The adventure begins in Kathmandu, where we will whet your appetite for adventure by taking you on a sightseeing tour of the capital's three main UNESCO World Heritage sites:  Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple.

From Kathamndu, we transfer to Pokhara. On this leg of the journey, we will have the option to fly or drive. Driving is more scenic and recommended for at least one of the legs.

After Pokhara, we transfer to Jomsom and the trek begins! Each day, we will hike through valleys and over mountain passes, enjoying stunning views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks and visiting traditional villages along the way.

As we go, we will pass through a lunar landscape-esque desert, a narrow and incredibly verdant gorge, a monastery carved from the walls of a cave and many more incredible sights.

After arriving at Lo Mangthang, we will spend a day exploring the area before winding our way back to Jomsom via the even more scenic highland route.

Once back in Pokhara, we'll have a day to explore the city and surrounding valley there before returning to Kathmandu and saying goodbye.

We had an amazing Mardi Himal trek. We booked last minute and we were dealt with promptly and professionally. The trek was fully customisable including a stay in a lovely hotel and bus rides to and from Kathmandu. Our guide Amir was awesome and made our trek everything we wanted. Thank you so much!
