Description

Traversing the remote northwestern corner of Nepal's Annapurna conservation area, the Upper Mustang Trek is a hidden gem of Himalayan hiking!

Passing through an ancient Buddhist kingdom that maintains close ties with Tibet, the Upper Mustang trek is not only an incredibly scenic experience, but also a spiritual and cultural one.

Over the course of 18 days, we will pass through traditional villages, cross an arid plain, hike up into the Himalayan foothills and enjoy plenty of incredible views of the Annapurna massif as well as other iconic Himalayan peaks.

However, the fun begins after you arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. The following day, we will whet your appetite for adventure by going on a city tour of Kathmandu.

From Kathmandu, we will transfer to Pokhara and then on to Jomsom, where the trekking really begins.

Over the course of the next 12 days, we will hike through numerous green valleys and up over various mountain ridges, enjoying incredible views of the Annapurna massif and other snow-capped Himalayan peaks en route.

Just before reaching Lo Mangtang, we will cross a lunar landscape-esque desert – one of the many highlights of the trip. Once in Lo Mangtang, the incredible sightseeing continues as we visit various iconic monasteries, including one made from a cave.

After spending a day exploring Lo Mangtang and the surrounding area, it will be time to begin returning to Jomsom. As we go, we will take the high route in order to see more of the region's stunning scenery.

Once we've returned to Kathmandu and said our goodbyes, you will already be planning your next trekking adventure in Nepal.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this once-in-a-lifetime 18-day Upper Mustang trek in the heart of the Nepalese Himalayas!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
