Piz Boè is the highest peak in the Sella group (a massif on the Dolomites), rising to 3152 m. Cesare Piazetta via ferrata takes you up to the top!
The starting point of this via ferrata route is Passo Pordoi, at an easy access from Canazei (Trento) or Arabba (Belluno).
A hiking trail passing along a World War I memorial site will lead us to the base of the route in one hour.
This is a quite challenging and demanding via ferrata. Because of that, it's important to be in a very good physical condition and having previous climbing skills. The first 100 meters are the most steep and difficult. However, there are some terraced sections to relax.
The whole trip can take between 4-6 hours.
Would you like to challenge youserlf in this superb via ferrata? Send me a request so we can organize this together!
If you're seeking other via ferratas in the Dolomites, check out Tridentina Sella route, also in the Sella group.

Mountain Guide
Hi! I'm Renato, IFMGA guide from the Dolomites, and I work together with my colleagues Robert, Patrick & Walter (German speaking), Paolo, Matteo, Davide, Giorgia and Luca.
If I'm not available to guide you, one of them will take care of you.
I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.
Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.
My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).
Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

Robert was very friendly and a great instructor. The via ferrata he took us on was amazing!

First, it was an amazing trip. Robert was great, although different than guides in the US. He was more hands off. Example, he brought the gear, we put it on, and he said let's go. At the obstacles, he briefly described what we'd do, then we'd go. We have experience so this worked fine. He was friendly and accommodating, but interaction was light. He provided a sense of security and lead us, but we also felt that we owned the experience. I'm used to guides being right next to you the entire time so this was different. I found it empowering. As with most experiences in the area, you may not hear from the guide until 1-2 days prior to the trip. Overall, there is no question we were glad to have Robert.

Robert was fun to climb with, a good teacher, and a good photographer!

Had no idea you need a car in the Dolomites. Was not staying in town and didn’t have a car. My guide was so so kind to help me get to the trailhead! I was solo and he was very nice to take photos for me.

We had a fantastic time trying something new and the views were stunning. We were given the option of two via ferrata by our guide and felt that our chosen route was challenging enough but not too intimidating for a first go. Roberto was very knowledgeable and experienced and, as it turns out, also a great photographer!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
