Description

Climb to the crater of one of the most active volcanoes in South America, the Villarrica Volcano (2860m), with this 1-day trekking trip starting from Pucón, in southern Chile. Join us for one of the best experiences you can enjoy in this region!

You will discover amazing landscapes and mountain views on your way to the top of this stunning volcano in the Andes. From the Villarrica summit, it is possible to observe the amazing view of an open crater with a pool of boiling lava inside.

Villarrica is a great summit for beginners in a good physical condition, and it does not require participants to have previous mountaineering experience. We will meet at our agency in Pucón, and from there head to the Volcano base.

We will meet at our agency in Pucón early in the morning, at 06:30. We will give you a backpack with the certified technical equipment necessary to perform the activity (shoes, crampons, helmet, 2 pairs of gloves, gas filter mask, ice ax, jacket and windbreaker pants).

At 06:45 am we will head towards the Villarrica volcano base and we will start trekking at 07:30 hrs. We will reach the summit at about 14:00 h. From the top you will get an amazing panoramic view of all the other volcanoes of the region.

Then we will begin the descent, sliding on the snow, like on natural tobogans, enjoying a spectacular view towards the volcanoes and lakes of this region. At about 17:00 h we will be back in our office in Pucón.
