**The ski tour around la Meije is one of the most beautiful hut to hut backcountry skiing trips in the Alps. It has all the ingredients of ski alpinism: glacier terrain, steep slopes, large bowls and different orientations**. It allows you to discover amazing glaciers with the mythic peak of la Meije as a backdrop.

**La Meije (3984m) is a legendary peak surrounded by a fantastic terrain for ski touring / backcountry skiing.** The ski descents during the tour are spectacular and diverse and the mountain huts are located at high altitude. This tour has all the ingredients you need for 4 unforgettable ski touring days.

Join me for 4 days of ski touring in the wilderness of Oisans, in the Ecrins mountain range, at the border with the Hautes-Alpes and Isère departments.

I love guiding my friends and clients in this region, which I know very well. We will spend an awesome time together, far from the beaten tracks. We will be leaving from La Grave using the cable car and we will stay in the **different refuges of the area: La Selle, Le Promontoire and L’Aigle**. We will finish our adventure on the glacier of Tabuchet, one of the glaciers of the north face of La Meije.

I usually organise this tour in April and/or May. Some dates are already fixed. Please get in touch with me if you want to know the available dates.

If you want to join me, **you must be a good skier on all types of snow** and you need to have **ski touring and mountaineering experience**, since we will use ropes as well as crampons on the most difficult sections of the tour. You also need to be in good physical shape since we will ski up around 800 to 1200 meters a day.

Please note I take max 3 people on each tour with me. If you are a larger group, we will be two guides in order to maximize your safety.

This tour is suitable for all skiing levels, as it is possible to organise an easier ski tour around la Meije for beginners or intermediate ski level.

We will meet at 8am at the train station of Briançon and then we will go for a first ski tour around Pic du Combeynot (based on the weather and snow conditions). We will review the basics of ski touring, mountaineering and do some safety exercises.

**Day 1**  
Transfer to la Grave,  then go up with the lift of la Meije. We will ski to La Lauze Pass at 3510 m and then go down to La Selle mountain hut (2670 m).

**Day 2**  
Replat Pass (3335 m) or Brèche du Rateau (3235m), then Promontoire mountain hut (3092m).

**Day 3**  
Brèche de La Meije and Serret du Savon, night at the mountain hut (3450 m).

**Day 4**  
Rimaye de la Meije Orientale (3891m) and ski down the Homme or Tabuchet glacier.

**Do you dream of ice climbing? Let’s try it together for a weekend, with an initiation climb in the Ecrins Massif?**

During this trip, the goal is to teach you the basic techniques that will allow you to gain autonomy on easy routes.

On the first day, we will have different workshops. The following day we take a multi-pitch route, applying the techniques that we just learnt.

Of course I can adapt this 2-day program to suit your wishes and the time you have available.

**We can choose from many different cool sites! From simple cascades of one rope length to very engaged walls with international reputation. For example, we can go to Queyras with Ceillac and Aiguilles, Freissinières, Le Fournel, Cervières or La Grave.**

Depending on the program and requests, I will take up to 4 people. If you are a larger group, I will ask my friend Lionel, UIAGM high mountain guide as well, to join us.

Additionally, I organise trips for more experienced climbers that wish to improve their skills.

If you are in the Ecrins Massif region for many days, we can consider combining several winter activities. For example, off-piste ski in a surrounding station, or ski touring.

**Maurienne** is a French province located in the **Savoie** department in the **Rhône Alpes** region. Enjoy skiing through these beautiful french off-piste routes and amaze yourself with an incredible landscape full of snow-covered peaks.

The **base camp** of our tour will be a french community called **Aussois** near Maurienne.

On Monday, we will organize the week and talk about group’s rules and security. Then you will enjoy your first routes of the week. Depending on the group level and the weather conditions, we’ll choose different stations during the rest of the week.

Apart from Aussois, some of the stations we will enjoy on this tour will be **Val Fréjus**, **Orelle / Val Thorens**, **Bonneval** and **La Norma**.

For this tour, it is important to have a **high level of fitness and experience**.

Finally, please do not forget to bring:

Discover a beautiful wild area full of snow-covered peaks and glaciers while you improve your skills on the best off-piste routes in **Les Écrins National Park** in the **Haute Alps** department. 

The **Massif des Écrins** is mountain group located in the heart of the **Écrins National Park** in **southeastern France**. This is one of the ten French national parks and its highest peak reaches the **4,102 meters**.

As for the itinerary, on the first day we will introduce ourselves and organize the week. We’ll have a conversation about group rules and security and you will enjoy your first slopes of the week. During the rest of the days, we’ll pick a ski station according to the weather conditions and the group level.

The base camp of our ski safari will be **Vallouise**, a French community located in the **Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur** region. During this tour, you will have the chance to visit the ski stations of **Pelvoux**, **Puy St. Vincent**, **Serre Chevalier**, **Risoul**, **Molines**, **Abriès**, **Montgenèvre** and **La Grave**.

On this tour, the transport will be in **personal cars** and the accommodation will be at the **l’Argentière Les Écrins**. Take into account that a **high level of fitness and experience** is mandatory for this tour.

On this tour, our base camp will be the Italian communities of **Thures** and **Rochemolles**.

The Grand Saint Bernard pass, between Switzerland and Italy, mountain pass famous for its history, so visited in summer and isolated in winter; this high place is worth a break and some ski tracks.

We will stay 2 nights in the hospice inhabited by canons, in a calm and singular atmosphere.

Then, we will go to the charming cabin near Plan du Jeu, for other ski tours in the Valais so dear to our skis.

It is possible to extend with a fourth day on site.
