I will guide you on this beautiful and stunning 2-day backcountry skiing trip at the Lost Trail Lodge, Lake Tahoe, where not only will we discover **some of the best hidden, peaceful backcountry spots**, whilst also learning the most effective and efficient backcountry skiing skills and techniques, but we will also stay in an authentic and charming backcountry lodge to relax and refresh in.

Lake Tahoe is nestled between the borders of California and Nevada, and is an immensely popular tourist destination all throughout the year. It is **renowned for its excellent and optimum skiing conditions**, with vast tracts of backcountry areas to ski in.

We meet in the morning at Lake Tahoe, where important safety gear and information is dispensed. From there we head out to the wilds of the backcountry, where **we will seek out the most uncrowded, off-the-beaten-path sections to ensure a peaceful experience.**

After traipsing and travailing our way around the Anderson Ridge crest, **we then spend the night at the Lost Trail Lodge, a warm and cosy abode** full of comfortable beds and nice food, so we can rest our weary bodies!

The next day is spent skiing around more of the glorious backcountry, with the **fresh, deep powder and the picturesque alpine forests** leading down to the centerpiece of the region, Lake Tahoe.

Some of the skills and techniques we will be going through include the **use of climbing skins, avalanche hazard recognition, uphill techniques and use of transceivers**. Learning these will increase your backcountry skiing confidence and help you tackle more challenging routes.

Intro to Backcountry Skiing in Tahoe

There are a number of different ways to enjoy **Lake Tahoe**. For some people, just being there, leisurely soaking in the scenery, while soaking in the beautiful blue water is enough. However, for those looking for a challenging and thrilling way to enjoy the area, this **1 day biking and paddling trip** is for you.

Throughout the day, you will not only get to enjoy some truly spectacular views of **Lake Tahoe**, you will get to enjoy them while feeling the blood pump excitedly through your body!

The first part of this trip will involve **downhill biking**. Thus giving you the rush of racing downward at high speeds while feeling the wind blow hard against your face in a fruitless attempt to slow you down. There are a number of fabulous descents to choose from, and before the trip begins I will go over them with you, and let you choose which one you want to take on, based on your skill level and the degree of thrills you want to experience. After the descent, we will then pick you up and take you to the second part of the trip, which is **paddle boarding** downwind on **Lake Tahoe’s** glistening water. And finally, at the end of that experience, we will relax, eat lunch, and reflect on the adventure you have just had, while your heart finally begins to slow to a normal beat.

Famous for its beautiful landscape, **Lake Tahoe** in the **Sierra Nevada mountain range** of **California** is a wonder to behold. However, beyond its beauty it is also home to one of the most scenic bike routes in the world, **the Flume trail**. This amazing trail runs along **Lake Tahoe’s eastern shore**, and is full of tremendous views of the stunning lake water below.

The altitude of the trail runs at a steady **2,316 metres above sea level**. Thus amplifying the great views you will receive. It is also not that difficult to ride. As a result, it is very accessible to cyclists of every biking level.

What makes this day trip so exciting is that the biking portion is just the first part because when you near the end of the trail, you will then be transported down to the **Sand Harbour State Park**. Once you reach the park, we will stop for some lunch. Afterwards, you will get to have a great time on the beautiful water of **Lake Tahoe** on a **paddle boat**. Hence providing you with a relaxing conclusion to an amazing trip.

We will meet at the trailhead and after a safety and equipment check, we will skin up the mountain at your pace. Once we finish our climb, we will go into ski mode and enjoy the turns we just earned.
