Hello, I'm Masataka. I was born and raised in Hokkaido. I have been running a small professional mountaineering, hiking and skiing guide company in Hokkaido for over 22 years. The whole of Hokkaido is dedicated to providing mountaineering, hiking and skiing tours in the area. Our attitude is that not only can our customers participate in the tours with peace of mind, but also their families can send our customers off from their homes with peace of mind.

Guide, unfortunately, didn't really have the level of English needed to lead an English-speaking tour. Misunderstanding led to the guide being angry when I waited for him in the wrong place. No checks of safety equipment were done and no briefings on SOPs at beginning or during any tour, meaning I skied all terrain 'blind' not knowing if we stopping at the end of pitches or where we were meeting, with guide skiing off into woods and out of sight. The danger of this was demonstrated when the guide fell and I only found him by chance.
