Mount Fuji (3776m) is the highest and the most iconic mountain in Japan. On this one-day climb, we will enjoy setting off very early to reach the sacred summit of this amazing peak and return by the afternoon.

Due to the high altitude, we will walk above the tree line. You will enjoy the magnificent views along the trail of the town, lakes, and even the Pacific Ocean below.

Mount Fuji is located at a 1.5 hr. drive away from Tokyo. In order to tackle the lovely Fuji in one day, we will need to rise very early. I will pick you up at your hotel around the Kawaguchiko area and we will drive up to the starting point. If you have your own transfer, we can meet at the parking lot at the bottom of Mount Fuji at 4.30 am. \*Due to the road restrictions, we will take a taxi from the parking to the 5th station during the peak season (JUL to AUG). The taxi costs about 15,000yen. per one way.

We will start climbing at 5 am. It will take us around 5 - 6 hours to reach the summit and then around 4 hours to come back down to the parking lot. We will be back at around 4 - 5 pm. After the climb, I will take you back to your hotel in the Kawaguchiko area or to the train station around Mt. Fuji.

Mount Fuji Guided Climb, June to mid-October

Kamikochi is one of the best places to enjoy the panoramic views of the Japan Alps such as Okuhotakadake, the third-highest mountain in the country! There is no transportation to Kamikochi except on foot, so we can enjoy the magnificent views of the snow-covered mountains in a calm atmosphere, away from the crowds.

On the first day, I will pick you up at Nagano station in the morning and take you for a short snowshoeing outing in the Norikura area. We can admire an ice fall during this trip. Afterward, we will drive to Nakanoyu onsen hot springs for an overnight stay. You can enjoy the beautiful mountain views and onsen in this hotel.

On the morning of the 2nd day, we will start walking from the entrance tunnel of Kamikochi. After the tunnel, we will put on our snowshoes and enjoy snow hiking on the flat snow field. After a 4-5 hour return trip, we will head back to the hotel and I will drive you to Nagano station. Or, If you prefer an overnight stay in Kamikochi, I can arrange a special program upon your request.

Around 10 am I will pick you up at Nagano station or hotel around the Nagano area and drive to Norikura Kogen.

  
After lunch (not included), we will go snowshoeing to an icefall. It takes about 2 hours, round trip. Then we go to Naknoyu onsen (hot spring) inn for an overnight stay.

8:30 We drive down to the entrance tunnel to Kamikochi.  
9:00 Start walking  
\*After the 2 tunnels, we enjoy the view of the Japan alps (when weather permitting)  
12:00 Kappa Bashi bridge. Picnic time, back to the tunnel.  
15:30 End of walking  
16:00 Drive back to Nagano station or hotel in the Nagano area.

Mount Fuji is not only the tallest mountain in Japan with an outstanding 3,776 meters, it is also one of the most recognizable landmarks in the country and is deeply ingrained in the country's national identity as a symbol of its natural beauty.

Our ascent of this iconic peak, along with our overnight stay, will allow us to fully savor the experience of this iconic mountain.Due to the high altitude, we will walk above the tree line and be treated to breathtaking vistas of the town, lakes and even the Pacific Ocean below.

At this point of the climb we will have already ascended well above the tree line at an elevation of approximately 2,700 meters (8,858 feet).

We will then arrive at a small cluster of huts where we'll be able to rest, debrief and enjoy dinner. In order to witness the sunrise at the summit, we will have to start our ascent very early in the morning.

After our triumphant climb we will then be rewarded as we admire the sun slowly rising from the summit, casting its warm glow over the surrounding landscape, illuminating the jagged peaks of the Japan Alps in the distance. We will also have the option of traversing across the awe-inspiring crater at the summit known as Fujinomiya where you'll be able to get a glimpse into the volatile geological forces that shaped this iconic mountain.

We will be back to the parking lot early afternoon where I will take you back to your hotel in the Kawaguchiko area or to the train station around Mt. Fuji.

**Meeting at Mt. Fuji 5th Station -** 9:00 AM

I can offer to pick you up from your hotel in the Kawaguchiko area where we can then take a taxi to the Fujinomiya 5th Station. (Please be ready to pay for the taxi fare on the spot).

**Hiking start from 5th Station -** 11:30 AM

After getting our gear in order and preparing ourselves for the upcoming adventure, we embark on our ascent of this iconic mountain.

**Arrival at mountain hut -** 03:00-03:50 PM

At this point of the climb we will have already ascended well above the tree line at an elevation of approximately 2,700 meters (8,858 feet) above sea level. We will then arrive to a small cluster of huts where we'll be able to rest and have dinner which will be served around 16:00 to 17:00.

Climb to Mt. Fuji

**Climb to the summit -** 11:00PM - 12:00AM

We will start to climb around midnight so that we can witness the amazing sunrise at the top of Mt. Fuji.

**Mt. Fuji Sunrise -** 04:00 - 04:30AM

After our triumphant climb we will then be able to appreciate how the sun slowly rises from the summit, as it casts its warm glow before us.

We will also have the option to hike around Fujinomiya, the amazingly large volcanic crater that lies at the summit.

**Return to 5th station** \- 11:00AM - 01:00PM

We will be back to the parking lot early afternoon where I will take you back to your hotel in the Kawaguchiko area or to the train station around Mt. Fuji.
