With this 1-day hike to Adolfo Hess Bivouac in Val Veny we’ll take you to one of the last hidden secrets of the Mont Blanc massif.
The Adolfo Hess Bivouac (2958 m) is located in a remote place of the west section of the Mont Blanc massif. It’s on the ridge above the Elisabetta Hut that goes to the Aiguilles des Glaciers, and it’s one of the last places on this very popular mountain range, where you can find yourself alone with the immensity of nature.
This mountain hut is the oldest of its type in the Alps. It was built in 1929 and has not been remodeled like other huts. So it’s almost like time traveling to the past. And the view from it is unparalleled! You have a stunning scenery of the Val Veni with the Aiguilles des Glaciers and the Tre la Tete right in front of you.
The program will start from Courmayeur at 7 am. We’ll drive to Val Veny and start hiking up. We’ll do a short visit to the Elisabetta mountain hut and then continue up to our goal at 2958 meters, the Adolfo Hess Bivouac. The altitude gain will be of 1000 meters and the hike will last around 5 or 6 hours.
So request to book this trip and join one of our guides on this amazing 1-day hike to Adolfo Hess Bivouac in Val Veny. You’ll enjoy every moment of it!
And if you feel like going to other huts in the Alps, please also check our 1-day hike to Gervasutti Bivouac in Val Ferret.

We did a 1 day Ferrata with Marica. We've both never climbed a Ferrata before but we are both good hikers. We enjoyed our trip very much and you don't need to be a climber. Marica took good care of us and she is very informative with the local geography and history. We felt very safe with her. If you are traveling near the Dolomite and want to try something a bit out of your comfort zone, I highly recommend doing a ferrata especially with Marica. We did both ferrata ra gusela nuvolau and ferrata-averau. It took us about 6 hours.
