Explore the wild beauty of the Italian northern valley of Aosta on a 10-day trek from Courmayeur to Gran Paradiso.
Courmayeur, a northern town in the Aosta Valley, lies at the foot of the south side of Mont Blanc. Its picturesque mountain scenery makes it a highly attractive destination.
Its local church dates back to the 18th century and is home to the Giardino Botanico Alpino Saussurea, one of the highest botanical gardens in the world.
With the striking Mont Blanc behind us, we’ll trek southwards through the wild alpine beauty of the Aosta Valley. The combination of diverse flora and fauna species bring life to the remoteness of the valley.
We’ll pass by the ancient landscape of lands long inhabited by folklore, customs and legends.
Trekking though medium to high altitudes, and passing wild forest, meadows and pastures, we’ll reach the stunning mountain of Gran Paradiso, surrounded in the national park.
This is a challenging trip that is a total of 130 kilometres in length, as well as reaching 3,000m altitudes along mountain passes. For this reason, potential participants are expected to have a good level of fitness and stamina in order to fully enjoy the 1-day trek.
