Looking for a challenging mountaineering trip? Then this 18-day guided Aconcagua ascent is for you!
At 6,960 meters above sea level, Aconcagua is the highest summit in the American continent. This astonishing peak is located in the Andes, in the Argentinean province of Mendoza and is on many mountaineers wish list. On this trip, we’ll get a chance to explore the stunning ascent of this emblematic South American peak.
First of all, we’ll meet in Mendoza and transfer you to the hotel. Then, the next day, we’ll start heading towards Penitentes which is our point of access to the Aconcagua. Then, throughout the following days we will enjoy this stunning ascent. During the climb, you will get to explore some amazing spots in Mendoza such as Uspallata and Puente del Inca. In addition, we’ll do an acclimatization climb to Cerro Bonete, located at 5,100 meters above sea level. For a more detailed description of the itinerary, please take a look below.
Although this ascent is not technically difficult, it is physically demanding. The final section of the climb is quite hard due to the cold and strong wind. Therefore, it is very important to have a good fitness level as well as background mountaineering experience.
