Highlights

  • Enjoy the stunning scenery of Gran Paradiso National Park.
  • Climb to the top of one of the Alps' most iconic 4,000 meter peaks.
  • Get great views of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa from the top.

Description

Rising to 4,061 meters above sea level, Gran Paradiso is one of the Alps' most iconic summits. Situated in the Graian Alps, between the Piedmont and Aosta valleys, the peak is the perfect challenge for novice mountaineers (You need to be well trained because of the elevation gain and loss).

Over the course of our two days together, we will conquer the summit of this imposing peak, enjoying phenomenal views and great climbing along the way. The adventure begins after we meet up in Valsavarenche, in the Aosta Valley, on day one. After briefly going over the itinerary and checking our gear, we will begin a two and a half hours trek through the woods until we reach either the Federico Chabod refuge or Vittorio Emanuele refuge.

Getting an early start the next morning, we will hike until we reach the foot of the glacier. Once we do, the fun really begins as we traverse the Lavacieu glacier.

Once we've reached the top of this glacier, it's just a quick scramble to the summit where we will enjoy impeccable views of Mont Blanc, the Écrins, Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and the rest of the Alps. Once we've reached the summit we will head back down to the mountain hut and then to Valsavarenche.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this incredibly fun and scenic 2-day mountaineering trip to the top of Gran Paradiso!
