Situated between the valleys of Valtellina and Valsassina, near Lake Como, Monte Legnone is a mountain from the Bergamo Alps that reaches 2,609 meters of altitude. On this 2-day hiking program, we invite you to spend the night in a mountain hut and reach the summit of this beautiful peak in Italy.
This hike will start and end in the small village of Osiccio di Sopra, in the area of Valtellina, in the province of Sondrio. From there, we’ll cross woods, meadows and craggy cliffs on the way up to the summit.
On day 1, we’ll reach Rifugio Legnone, at 1,609 meters above sea level, at the foot of the mountain. This will be our accommodation for the night. On day 2, we’ll face the most demanding section of the hike with the final 250 meters on steep terrain. Finally, once at the top, all of our efforts will be rewarded with the astonishing panoramic view of the Monte Legnone surroundings. We’ll have the pleasure to contemplate Lake Como, Valtellina and Lake Lugano as well as the Swiss Alps.
Please, keep in mind that this hike is challenging. Therefore, it’s mandatory to have prior hiking experience and a very good level of fitness to take part of this trip. As we mentioned before, there will be difficult sections to face during the climb.
So, would you like to take part of this adventure to the top of Monte Legnone? Then please send the request to book your place and come to enjoy two wonderful days in the heart of the Italian Alps.
A less demanding option could be this 2-day hike to Monte Bregagno and Monte Grona, also near Lake Como. Check it out!
