Discover Tuscany’s best kept secret in the beautiful Garfagnana region on a seven-day hike!
Join me on this incredible seven-day hike around Tuscany’s Serchio Valley. Located in the marble mountains of the Apuane Alps and the Apennines, our chosen destination is home to olive growers and shepherds. This trip offers activity-filled days, relax time in the afternoons and the pleasure of experiencing the Italian culture.
The route of this Secret Tuscany Trek will take us through vineyards, olive groves, and terracotta villas. We will also get to see breathtaking views and enjoy the marvellous Tuscan cuisine, after relishing in the villa’s pool. We’ll be also able to visit places such as the charming village of Campaiana, Pania di Corfino, Foce di Valli pass, and others.
Our trip implies hiking for 6-7 hours every day on well-marked trails with ascents of 500-1.000 meters; one day, we’ll even hike for 8 hours! This is not an advanced trip, but I recommend you to be physically prepared for it, so you can enjoy it better. All days are optional and there’s a “free” day to explore the surrounding village and rest. Our highest peak is at 1.991 meters above sea level (Monte Giovo), but we won’t be spending too much time up there. Check the itinerary for a detailed description of every day.

It has been a magnificent 10 days journey with Lindsay Canon as an extraordinary guide. Her expertise, encouragement, humour and leadership have made this hike an unforgettable adventure. Overall the organisation of the hike with regard to sleeping facilities, food and communication was top notch.
Emma was a very sweet and knowledgeable guide. She was adaptive to the different personalities and skill level of our group. Easygoing, talkative, friendly and pleasant to be around! Couldn't be happier with our guide!
