I invite you to join me on this 2-day climbing trip and improve your climbing skills while you admire the most incredible waterfalls of the Varaita Valley, located in the Italian province of Cuneo, in the Piedmont region. The characteristic ice walls of this valley will allow you to enjoy a perfect ice climbing experience.
This trip will take two days. On the first one, we’ll hike up the Martinet, a spectacular ice wall. During this activity, you will learn the basic ice climbing techniques. In addition, you will have the opportunity to admire a beautiful frozen waterfall in Chianale, a little village in Cuneo located in the border between Italy and France.
On the second day, we will ascend the Bonvin Couloir, one of the most astonishing icefalls in the Varaita Valley. Keep in mind that I can provide you with the necessary technical equipment, except ice boots.
If you want to be part of this ice climbing learning adventure you should have a good physical condition and some prior mountaineering experience.
