Description

The Grandes Jorasses are a group of granite peaks standing on the border between France and Italy. On this 2-day ascent we will reach its highest point, Pointe Walker, via the normal route. Join me!

Located at the northern part of the Mont Blanc massif, between the Leschaux Glacier and the Aosta Valley, Grandes Jorasses has six summits linked by a 1km-long ridge. The highest one, Pointe Walker (4,208 m), was first climbed in 1868.

On this mountaineering tour we will follow the normal and most classic route to Pointe Walker. It involves climbing over rocks, ice and snowy slopes with some avalanche risk. Therefore, you’ll need a good fitness level and some technical mountaineering skills.

In addition, we will spend a night at the Boccalatte-Piolti Hut (2803 m.), a very remote and charming place even by Mont Blanc massif standards. We will rest surrounded by fabulous alpine landscapes!

So, if you are up for this unforgettable mountaineering adventure in the Grandes Jorasses, please contact me. Let’s reach the impressive Pointe Walker summit together!

We can also get to the top of other amazing Italian peaks: check out my Mount Adamello and my Cevedale’s 13 peaks tours.

The day was great, we felt safe, Stefano was responsive to our request, our pace, etc. The only thing that could have been improved was the communication before getting to Italy. I had a hard time deciding on what was appropriate for the level of our group, gauge how long and how hard the different options were with the limited info that was given to me.
