Join Yasuyuki, an English-speaking mountain guide, for a 3-day hiking trip in the Northern Japanese Alps! In autumn, you will get to enjoy the changing colors of tree leaves in the depths of the mountains.
Have you always wanted to hike through the forested Northern Japanese Alps in autumn? If so, this 3-day trip from Kamikochi to Karasawa Cirque might be just what you are looking for!
Situated in the Nagano Prefecture, Kamikochi is considered a National Cultural Asset, making it onto a public list of Special Natural Monuments and Special Places of Scenic Beauty in Japan.
We will begin this 3-day hiking excursion in the valley of Kamikochi (1,500 meters). We will get to make our way through forests of changing autumnal leaves, until we reach Tokusawa. We will then stay in a mountain hut for the evening and wake up the next morning to hike to Karasawa Cirque (2,300 meters). That night, we will again settle into a mountain hut on the trail and finally hike back to Kamikochi.
Join me on this hike if you love the changing landscapes of autumn that accompany Japan’s natural beauty. Send a request to book this trip!

I love nature. I love cycling, hiking and climbing.
I have worked in Canada, joined the MTB race in Africa, and traveled to Central America, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Everywhere, I've tried to see as much nature as possible. Nature is so different in every country and I find that immensely moving.
I believe that Japanese mountains are one of those places that you must visit at least once. Since Japan consists of small mountainous islands, you can experience many different landscapes almost at once - cities, small villages, flat lands with beautiful rice fields (rice is the foundation of Japanese culture), lush forests, green mountains and rocky mountains.
Nagano is the most mountainous prefecture in Japan and best place to see nature and go hiking and biking. That is why I now live in Nagano, helping world travelers enjoy the nature and culture of Japan.
Come visit Japan and have special experience in Nagano with us.
