The Hida Mountains, Kiso Mountains, and Akaishi Mountains are all partly located in Nagano making it a top spot for outdoor adventures. Nine of the highest mountain in Japan lie in this prefecture, as well as a wide variety of hot springs, lakes, resorts, and natural parks. With so many beautiful places to see, hiking in Nagano is a must. Additionally, when off the mountain, visiting its towns, temples, shrines and other historic landmarks is a great way to experience the Japanese culture!
