I will guide you on this thrilling 5-day mountain biking tour around the UNESCO Heritage Site in Roros, Norway, where we will ride around the epic and excellent mountain biking trails and routes that wind through idyllic and tranquil scenery, with the old mining landscapes adding a unique twist to proceedings.
Roros is located in the centre of Norway, and is a UNSECO World Heritage Site owing to the preservation and use of its 17th and 18th century buildings. It has historically been known for its copper mining, whereas nowadays it is best known for its fantastic food and drink reputation, as well as the nearby mountains.
We begin on the first day by meeting in Ringebu, and then heading to our hotel accommodation for the trip in Roros.
The second day is spent mountain biking all day, as we head up to the nearby mountain plateau whereby we can survey the former mining terrain, the singletracks we descend down traipsing around this unique area.
Day 3 is a big day of riding, close to 30km of singletrack, as we go from Roros to Hodalen via the peaceful and superb mountain landscape, the views out over the valleys and farms taking the breath away.
We spend the night at a traditional mountain hut, including a hearty dinner made from local ingredients.
The penultimate day is when we bike around the Southernmost part of the mountains, containing some of the best tracks and conditions for our riding. We end up at the Raudsjodalen mountain dairy, where our dinner will be made right there in the dairy!
The final day is spent exploring yet more mountain terrain on bike, before our final descent through the post-card pretty woods and forest, before we say our goodbyes, having experienced a thrilling and memorable 5 days of mountain biking.
This 5-day mountain biking expedition will blow you away with its beauty and thrilling riding – book now to experience!
Arrival at Røros Hotel in the evening. Dinner made from local produce at Norway’s foodie capital. After dinner we will go through the plans for the days ahead.
We mount our bikes for today’s expedition on the mountain plateau surrounding Røros. There is culture and history around every bend, and the mining history that has made Røros famous serves as a backdrop for the day. We finish our day with a beautiful singletrack all the way back to the hotel. Relax in the wellness area, before we enjoy another delicious dinner and get ready for a new day.
This is the biggest day out with around 30 km of singletrack awaiting us. The tour will take us from Røros to Hodalen, through the beautiful and mellow mountain landscape, which this area is known for. We will spend our night at a traditional mountain hut, with dinner served from produce harvested just outside our doorstep.
We embark upon the southernmost part of the mountain plateau surrounding Røros. We follow flowy singletracks in this landscape, which is almost hand tailored for mountain biking. We finish the day with a quick and super fun descent to Raudsjødalen mountain dairy, the only one of its kind in Norway. Produce for our dinner is literally made from scratch at the dairy. A unique experience in the Norwegian mountains!
On our last day we will travel through different kinds of terrain. Most of it in the mountains, but we finish the day with an amazing singletrack through the forest down to the train station in Tolga. This is our pick-up point where we will be transported back to Røros.

We recommend full suspension bikes on all of our tours. We also provide rental bikes, specially tailored for our tours. We will issue a recommended packing list for every tour. Please note that the packing list is issued as a reference, and Urørt ski og sykkeleventyr AS is not responsible for failing to include any particular item or misspellings on this list.
Even though most of our tours are hosted in some of the driest areas of Norway, we will still be in the mountains and above the tree line for a longer period of time on most of our tours. At all times follow the instructions of your guide, and use the issued packing lists as reference to get the most out of your tour!
