Description

I will guide you on this 4-day mountain biking and culinary tour in Rondane, Norway, where not only will we ride around thrilling, fun, exciting and picturesque mountain bike trails and routes, but we will also take the time each day to indulge in the gorgeous local food made fresh at our quaint and rustique mountain farm accommodation, as well as sample the local beers made at a nearby microbrewery.

Rondane National Park is located in the middle of Norway, and is the oldest national park in the country, as well as one of the driest parts of Norway. It is home to several peaks over 2000m, and there is a diverse range of flora and fauna, with animals such as wild reindeer, elk, wolverines and lynxes roaming the area.

The first morning starts by meeting in Ringebu, and from there we head to our idyllic mountain farm accommodation, which will be our base for the week.

The second morning begins with a hearty breakfast whipped up by our very own chef, before we head out mountain biking in earnest, traipsing and travailing through the majestic and pretty mountains, the conditions ideal for biking due to the dry weather and winding singletracks that lead us through postcard-pretty woods.

The day finishes with a few hard-earned microbrews, before a delicious 3-course meal in the evening made from local produce.

Day three is basically a carbon copy of the previous day, with an epic and awesome day of mountain biking through the tranquil landscape, scenery and terrain exposing us to magnificent sweeping panoramic views over the valleys and lakes below, capped off by more microbrews and another scrumptious 3-course meal.

The final day entails a visit to Mt. Tron, making our way up Norway’s second highest lying mountain road, finishing the whole trip with our pick of 400 vertical metres of singletrack back down to the woods, where we are able to reflect on our 4 days of fantastic biking, beer and food!

This 4-day adventure will make you fall even more in love with Norway’s scenery and food – book now to indulge!

Itinerary

Day 1: Meet

Arrival in the evening at the local mountain farm, which will serve as our base for the tour. After dinner we will go through the plan for the days ahead.

Day 2: Bike

Our own chef serves a magnificent breakfast at our base before we head out for the first day in the Norwegian mountains. We live in the middle of mtb-paradise, with dry alpine singletracks in beautiful scenery. We finish the day with a super fun singletrack through the woods back to our base, with a well-earned microbrew in the sun or the hot tub. In the evening we will have a microbrew tasting with a local brewery, before we enjoy a 3-course meal from local produce gathered just outside our doorstep.

Day 3: Bike

Another day of enjoying the best of the Norwegian mountains. We head back out to the amazing network of singletracks, and finish the day with a 3-course meal and microbrew.

Day 4: Bike and finish

Afterbreakfast we will be transported to Mt. Tron, where we will be shuttled up to a mountain plateau on Norway’s second highest lying mountain road. From the plateau we have 400 vertical meters of fantastic singletrack down to the tree line, from where we can pick and choose among some of the best mountain biking Norway has to offer.

We recommend full suspension bikes on all of our tours. We also provide rental bikes, specially tailored for our tours. We will issue a recommended packing list for every tour. Please note that the packing list is issued as a reference, and Urørt ski og sykkeleventyr AS is not responsible for failing to include any particular item or misspellings on this list.

Even though most of our tours are hosted in some of the driest areas of Norway, we will still be in the mountains and above the tree line for a longer period of time on most of our tours. We encourage all our guests to be prepared for all kinds of weather, and all seasons, even during mid-summer. At all times, follow the instructions of your guide, and use the issued packing lists as reference to get the most out of your tour!
