6-day splitboard mountaineering in Valdez, Alaska

Come with me to explore some of the United States‘ best splitboard mountaineering terrains located in Valdez, Alaska. With spectacular dry snow and wide open glaciers, this place is paradise for all splitboard mountaineers. Join me on this incredible adventure to discover the reason for yourself.

During this 6-day trip, I’ll guide you through some mountaineering techniques. These include: riding couloirs and steep lines, crampons and ice axe, snow anchors and rappelling, crevasse rescue and glacial navigation and route planning.

Deep in the heart of the Chugach Range, we’ll spend most of our tours on the Thompson Pass area, known for being one of the only areas in the U.S. to offer roadside access to big glaciated terrain. We’ll also be camping for a few nights to improve our winter-camping skills. Other nights will be spent in local lodges to enjoy the exquisite Alaskan cuisine.

This trip is recommended for advanced snowboarders with some experience in backcountry skiing and splitboarding.
