Home to the vast Rocky Mountains and many awesome runs, Colorado is a skiers paradise. Choose from a wide range of ski towns like Telluride, Vail and Aspen, pack your skis and get ready for some awesome powder.
The Rocky Mountain National Park is an excellent location for backcountry skiing. Here you’ll find the Hidden Valley Backcountry Area and the Flattop Mountain. These areas provide awesome runs. In Aspen, you’ll find awesome spots, particularly the trails along Castle Creek Valley to Ashcroft. Telluride is another awesome option and is not as busy as some of the other backcountry spots in Colorado. Plus, Telluride is located in the San Juan Mountains where there are lots more runs to explore.
Colorado is very sunny with around 300 days of sunshine a year. The weather is mild year round with averages of 7 degrees celsius in the winter and 30 degree days in the summer. The weather is always colder in the mountains.
