Colorado has 22 resorts in total covering all most 30,000 acres of skiing terrain. That’s a lot of land to ski on. There are also a number of huts deep in the backcountry which you can use as a base on your trips.

Colorado is very sunny with around 300 days of sunshine a year. The weather is mild year round with averages of 7 degrees celsius in the winter and 30 degree days in the summer. The weather is always colder in the mountains
The Rocky Mountain National Park is an excellent location for backcountry skiing. Here you’ll find the Hidden Valley Backcountry Area and the Flattop Mountain. These areas provide awesome runs. In Aspen, you’ll find awesome spots, particularly the trails along Castle Creek Valley to Ashcroft. Telluride is another awesome option and is not as busy as some of the other backcountry spots in Colorado. Plus, Telluride is located in the San Juan Mountains where there are lots more runs to explore
