Description
Head to the Elk Mountains of Colorado and join a guided program in the backcountry of Crested Butte! This ski touring extravaganza places you in the heart of the Rockies and allows you to experience the snow that has made this region one of the world’s first class ski destinations!
Crested Butte sits just south-southwest of Aspen and Vail in the high profile Rocky Mountains in what has become one of the world’s premiere skiing locations. Thanks to the easy access, rugged and endless terrain, and top tier snow quality, this is becoming the go-to spot for superb backcountry skiing.
Drainage basins from the high mountains provide oodles of great ski routes, ensuring you are always hitting a new line each time descend the slopes. You can choose from wide open and long runs, tree-lined routes, thrilling couloirs and ridges, and steep Alpine bowls. Your options are endless.
This program is designed to give you a day or more in the pristine environment of the Elk Mountains. We can tailor a program for as many days as you need, so let me know what you are looking for and we can work a trip out together. Some common objectives are Mt. Emmons, Ruby Range, and Snodgrass, but we can carve out an agenda that fits your needs and abilities.
You should be in good shape for this program, capable of enduring Rocky Mountain backcountry both physically and mentally. Previous experience off-piste is necessary to get the most out of this trip.
