Situated in the heart of the stunning San Juan Mountains, on the western slopes of the Colorado Rockies, Telluride is the perfect place to get off-piste and explore the backcountry.
After meeting up at the backcountry access gates outside Telluride Ski Resort, we will head out to the Bear Creek drainage area. Here, we'll find plenty of excellent runs.
Expect to skin for about a kilometer, gaining 200 meters in elevation, before enjoying phenomenal views out over this picturesque part of the Rockies. We'll then proceed to enjoy various incredible descents, taking advantage of the dry and light powder characteristic of this part of the state.
In order to gain as much altitude as we can, we'll use some of the local resort lifts. These will get us up above the tree line and to various different parts of the resort.
The last ride of the day will see us cruise right down from the top of Gold Hill Ridge to the the door step of the Oak Bar, in Telluride (provided conditions are appropriate).
So what are you waiting for? Book now for this fun, exciting and scenic 1-day backcountry skiing adventure in Bear Creek!
