I invite you to live a legendary adventure: skiing in Alaska’s big mountains. Join me for 7 unforgettable days of backcountry ski touring and ski mountaineering in the Chugach mountains, near Valdez. If you are an experienced skier, you should do it at least once in your life.
There are few places in the world with the mystique of the Chugach range. Also, few places with the terrain we can find in Alaska. Picture huge amounts of snow piling up all winter long on endless mountain faces, rolling glaciers, flowing spines and immaculate couloirs. It’s something you won’t see anywhere else. This is your chance!
Get ready to enjoy runs of up to 1500 metres on endless alpine terrain, through glaciers, couloirs and alpine peaks. And let me tell you an interesting fact about the Chugach mountains: more snow falls here than anywhere else in the world!
The difficulty level of this trip is from intermediate to expert. We have more options for advanced skiers. I will guide you on a ski tour through the Thompson pass. Then, we will have the option of getting further into the Chugach mountains via snowmobile bump or heli drop.
Getting to the small city of Valdez is possible with a direct flight, but flying to Anchorage is much cheaper. If you chose the last option, we will have a vehicle to transport you from Anchorage to Valdez. It’s a 5 hour drive through a picturesque road.
I guarantee we will have an amazing time in Alaska. I have the experience and certification needed to ensure you will enjoy a safe and great ski tour. Besides, I love big mountain skiing!

Prices: USD 2250, Price per double occupancy room//USD 2600, Price per single occupancy room.
The price also includes: Airport Transportation from Anchorage- Daily Valley transportation- Accommodation in Valdez (not in Anchorage).
Heli Drops (if applicable) and Sled transfer (if applicable) are not included in the price.
HELI ASSISTED SKI TOURING DAY: With a relationship established with Valdez Heli Ski Guides we have ample opportunity to get a heli bump deeper into the range, either with a pick up flight or skiing back to the highway. Cost will vary from USD 400 – 1000 per flight (up to 4 guests).
GLACIER CAMPING TRIP: Depending on conditions and your interest, we have the option to fly into a glacier camp. This could be possible if we are looking to ski/summit a larger objective where an alpine start is needed.
