Description

Situated well above the Arctic Circle, the Lyngen Alps, near Troms, are home to more than 600 mountain peaks that reach 1,000 metres in elevation!

Receiving plenty of high-quality powder all winter long, the region is the perfect place to head for a freeride ski touring adventure!

Join us and over the course of our 8 days together, we’ll explore the stunning  Tamok Valley, ski down jagged peaks and majestic fjords, and get the chance to explore some of the outer isles.

All of this will be made possible thanks to the Pesä, a retired army truck that has been refitted to serve as a mobile ski hut.

Each day, we’ll spend about 5 to 8 hours skiing. We’ll start our adventure in the Tamok Valley, getting used to the skiing conditions before driving farther north into the Lyngen Alps.

After a couple of days skiing these majestic slopes, we’ll head out to do some summit to sea skiing on the various outer islands.

As the trip draws to its end, we’ll return to the Tamok Valley and enjoy a bit more skiing here as well as a traditional sauna.

We will start each day out with breakfast in the Pesä and each evening, we’ll enjoy a three course meal prepared by our own personal chef. After dinner, we will plan our next day’s adventure and spend the evening gazing upwards, looking for the Northern Lights.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this fun, exciting and unique 8-day freeride ski touring adventure in the Lyngen Alps, from Troms.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Fly into one of the local airports (we recommend Bardufoss Airport (BDU)) and meet the guide.

Transfer to the accommodation (an old army truck, we call the Pesä) and go over the itinerary for the trip.

Day 2: Skiing in Tamok

We will head into the valley and away from civilisation. Depending on the weather conditions, there are various mountains to skin up and ski down. We can also use the Pesä to head somewhere else. Expect to spend 5 to 8 hours skiing this day.

*Please note itinerary is subject to change based on weather and snow conditions.

Day 3: Exploring Tamok

We will continue to explore Tamok, with the option of climbing Sjufjellet, Blåbærfjellet or another nearby mountain peak. Expect to spend 5 to 8 hours skiing.

Day 4: Ski from summit to sea

We will take the Pesä through the Tamok Valley and into the Lyngen Alps. We’ll eventually reach the coast and climb up a seaside mountain before skiing down from the summit all the way to the sea shore.

Day 5 to 6: Explore further afield

Both of these days will be spent skiing in the Lyngen Alps and surrounding islands. We will have the option to explore Senja, Kvaløya, and other outer islands.

Day 7: Last day on the snow

We will return to the Tamok Valley and spend one last day skiing here. Afterwardas, we’ll enjoy a traditional sauna

Day 8: Departure

After breakfast, we say goodbye.

Great wilderness experience with Hannele and Claudia at Bliss Adventure in mid-January. Beautiful winter wilderness landscape and overnight stay in rustic but very comfortable log cabin. Remote and undisturbed but at the same time not too strenuous and appropriate for beginner/intermediate level skiers. Excellent organization and guiding. Highly recommended.
