Description

AIARE Avalanche Rescue Course

The AIARE Avalanche Rescue course is a one-day field course that teaches you how to use avalanche rescue equipment, conduct safety checks, and extract buried victims, both single and multiple. Upon completion of the course, you will have the skills you need to practice avalanche rescue on your own and further develop your rescue skills.

This course is a great refresher for those who have taken the AIARE Level 1 avalanche course or for anyone who wants to focus on avalanche rescue skills. It is facilitated in Mammoth Lakes, CA.

Our AIARE recreational courses are facilitated in the Mammoth Lakes region of the Eastern Sierra. Transportation and lodging are not covered in the cost of any AIARE course. We recommend that you have a car that can handle winter road conditions, in case of inclement weather.

After registering for the course, you will receive a confirmation email. Two weeks before your first day, you will receive a detailed itinerary outlining the course, as well as an equipment list, local lodging options, and gear rental locations in town.

It is highly recommended that you come to the course familiar with your snow travel mode of transportation, whether that be ski touring, splitboarding, or snowshoeing.

We thank you in advance for coming prepared and look forward to a few great days in the field with you! Reserve your spot and contact us today!

Patrick took me out to the Indian Cove! Loved the short approach and couldn’t asked for better weather. Patrick recommended great pitches where I could try new stuff like chimneying. Would definitely book again if I go back to JTree!

We had an excellent time with Chad on our multi -pitch day in Joshua Tree. My partner and I have some experience climbing sport routes, but had no experience with trad climbing or multi-pitch routes. Chad is a great instructor and led our routes with ease. We felt confident in his abilities to keep us safe and have fun. Will definitely book again with him.

We booked through Ryan, and Daniel was our guide - absolutely brilliant, very down to earth and knowledgeable. The climbs themselves were awesome, with insane views. My partner is an experienced indoor climber, and I have close to no experience, especially outdoors, but still felt safe and in good hands. We did a half day, which was 5hrs, and got 4 climbs in, then stayed after the tour to walk around a bit more and have some snacks with a view (make sure you take food/water as there aren’t any shops inside the park). Definitely recommend.

Our guide, Spencer, was fantastic! He tailored everything to our exact needs, and we now feel equipped to climb outdoors without a guide.
