The Tre Cime di Lavaredo—Cima Grande, Cima Piccola, and Cima Ovest—are among the most iconic apeaks in the entire Dolomites region.
Towering in solitude, these three majestic spires are a must-see for anyone passionate about the mountains. Their dramatic silhouettes and rich alpine history make them one of the most admired natural landmarks in the Alps.
This two-day trek offers a unique opportunity to experience the Tre Cime from a less-traveled route, away from the usual crowds. Our itinerary circles the peaks with a distinctive twist compared to the classic loop, leading us into quieter, more intimate corners of the landscape. A highlight of the experience is an overnight stay in a small, cozy mountain hut nestled deep in the wilderness—a perfect place to disconnect and enjoy the stillness of the high alpine environment.
Day 1 involves a longer and more demanding hike, with varied terrain and stunning panoramic views that reward the effort. We'll take our time, with breaks to enjoy the scenery and learn about the area’s natural and cultural history. Day 2 is a gentler trek that brings us back to our starting point by midday, allowing plenty of time for reflection or onward travel.
This experience is ideal for hikers with good fitness and a love of nature, looking to explore the Dolomites in a meaningful, off-the-beaten-path way.

Meeting point
Starting at Rifugio Auronzo, follow the wide gravel path (101), we'll walk around the mountain in clockwise direction passing some picturesque mountain huts up to Rifugio Locatelli, where there is the best view of Tre Cime.
On one side, the iconic skyline of the Tre Cime, on the other side, the jagged Dolomites peaks in the distance. In less than 2 hours of hike we will arrive at the “wooden hut” with its unusual red & white windows frames at 2.528 meters where we will spend the night.
The second day we will over our tour around Tre Cime loop. From Rifugio Pian di Cengia, surrounded by the beauty of the mountains of Cadore and Cadini di Misurina we will reconnected with the classic trail up to Rifugio Auronzo. The trekking will end with a well-deserved lunch in a typical Alpine cottage.

We did a 6-day trek in the Zoldo Dolomites with Chiara as our guide, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. The scenery was breathtaking, but what truly made the trip so special was Chiara. She went above and beyond every step of the way. She was so attentive, knowledgeable, and always making sure we were safe, comfortable, and enjoying ourselves. Her passion for the mountains and care for her guests really shone through. Thanks to her, this trek was not just beautiful, but also deeply memorable. We can’t recommend Chiara and this experience enough!

We were lucky to have the best guide and great time trekking around Val di Zoldo area end of August. Chiara was taking good care of us, and she knows all the paths in the area. It was a pleasure to spend the 6 days together, we did around 90+ km and would definitely recommend it.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
