Would you like to climb one of the world’s most epic mountains? Then you can’t miss this Artesonraju paramount climbing experience in the Cordillera Blanca in Peru.
We call it a paramount climb because Artesonraju is a true Andean giant, worthy of any climber. But also, because it is famous for being on the “Paramount Pictures”. Furthermore, from the 6K summit, you will find yourself surrounded by some of the most famous peaks in Peru, such as Alpamayo, Quitaraju, Huandoy, Huascaran, and Santa Cruz. You can find a detailed itinerary below.
Keep in mind that this is a serious climb, it is necessary to have a very good physical level and previous technical mountain climbing experience. However, even though it is a difficult ascent for this adventure we will have a 2:1 guide ratio, to ensure personalized attention and safety.
So, are you ready for an amazing Artesonraju climb in the Peruvian Andes? Then send me a message today and start planning a once-in-a-lifetime mountain climbing adventure!
We leave Huaraz at about 6:00 AM to go to Caraz. Then, to Cashapampa, from there we are going to start the 5 hour trek to Llamacorral where we will camp, have dinner and rest.
In Llamacorral, we begin the trek to the base camp of Artesonraju. From there, we can appreciate the beautiful Alpamayo, Quitaraju, Taulliraju, and Puacajircas mountains. Later we will have dinner and stay overnight.
Carriers will transport equipment to the Artesonraju high camp, located at an altitude of 4,900 m. The trek to high camp will last about 4 or 5 hours. Later, we will have dinner and stay overnight.
We leave high camp at 10:00 PM. The ascent will be guided by a high mountain professional (UIAGM). After reaching the Artesonraju summit, we will descend to high camp, where the chef will await us with hot drinks and food.
This is going to be an “easy day” to rest and celebrate the summit. After a 3 hour trek, we will get to the base camp to eat well, rest and celebrate.
At 7:00 AM, we will leave the base camp to go to Cashapampa where the private transport will wait to take us back to Huaraz.

Mountain Guide
I was born and grew up in between the mountains of the Andean Range, always respecting and admiring nature. I now live in Huaraz, Cordillera Blanca, sharing my experience and passion with locals and visitors from around the world.
I've been climbing mountains for the past 9 years, and I became an official IFMGA mountain guide 4 years ago. As a guide, I organize expeditions in Peru and all around South America.

It does not matter if it is on the rock, on ice or trekking David is a great guide, reliable as a person and as a guide, with many skills, it is like climbing accompanied by the guardian angel taking care of you, I hope to climb with him next time to visit the Cordillera Blanca (maybe to climb "La Esfinge).
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
